  1. In the brief interview for Les Napoleons, Baroni challenges the idea that cross-modal narration no longer presents stories (“intrigues”) and presents worlds (“mondes”). He assures listeners that there is still a place for plot-driven narration and points towards a certain hierarchy among media. He also alludes, tantalizingly, to the need to develop new analytic tools to understand cross-modal relations. The clip is only 3:45 and so there is no elaboration.

    Makes me want to look at a book Baroni co-edited: Narrative sequence in contemporary narratology.
